Nearly seven out of every ten tonnes of pasta sold by European Union producers in 2025 came from Italy. The country manufactured just over 4.2 million tonnes, representing 69% of the EU total of about 6.1 million tonnes.

Germany’s Federal Statistical Office, Destatis, reported the figures on Tuesday, October 20, using data from Eurostat. Spain was the bloc’s second-largest producer with 379,000 tonnes, or 6%, while Germany placed third with more than 304,000 tonnes, equivalent to 5%.

Germany stood out for its comparatively high proportion of egg pasta, which made up 46% of domestic output. The corresponding share was 17% in Italy and 2% in Spain. Across the EU, egg-containing products represented 18% of sold pasta production, with egg-free varieties accounting for the remaining 82%.
