Privacy and Personal Data Policy
Dear visitors and users!
This Site is run by the Globe News Pulse editorial team (referred to below as the "Administration" and/or the "Site").
We treat the confidential (personal) information of every person who visits the Site or uses the services it provides with great respect; the Administration is committed to protecting the confidentiality of personal data and to creating the most comfortable possible conditions for every user of the Site's services.
To that end, the Administration offers this Privacy Policy — a detailed description of how your personal data is processed while you use the Site's services and while you visit the Site.
If you have any questions about privacy or personal data, please contact the Administration using the details listed in the "Contacts" section below.
Collection and use of personal data
When you use the Site's services, the Administration collects and processes data such as: information you provide when filling in forms or using the services; cookies; your IP address; your browser's parameters and settings.
The Administration only collects personal data (such as your name or email address) that you have knowingly and voluntarily provided in order to receive the Site's services.
The Administration limits itself to the minimum amount of information necessary to fulfil your request. Whenever information is requested that is not mandatory, you will be informed of that at the point it is collected.
We do not collect data subject to special legal requirements, such as racial or ethnic origin, political, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of political parties or trade unions, or data concerning health or sexual life (in line with Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection").
Personal data means information, or a set of information, about an individual who is identified or can be specifically identified.
The Administration also collects anonymized visit statistics for the Site: connection, traffic and browser information, along with the date, time and duration of a visit.
Processing of personal data
The personal data you provide is processed and stored in the data centers that host the infrastructure running the Site's services.
Purpose of using personal data
Your personal data is used to operate the Site's services, exchange information/news, and communicate with users, in accordance with Ukrainian legislation on personal data protection, information, advertising and telecommunications.
Personal data retention period
Personal data is kept for no longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and is deleted once that purpose no longer applies.
The Site's interaction with other resources
Pages on the Site may include code from third-party internet resources, which may then receive information indicating that you visited the Site, as well as other information passed on by your browser. Such resources may include: visit-statistics services (e.g. Google Analytics); ad-serving systems; social network plugins (e.g. Facebook, Twitter).
Visit-analytics services
Some pages on the Site have Google Analytics or similar analytics code installed. These services may receive and process information solely about the fact that you visited a page, along with other information passed on by your browser. We use this to analyze traffic and improve the Site; we do not separately store or process the data these services collect.
If you would rather these services not access your data, you can clear cookies through your browser's own settings at any time.
We recommend reviewing such services' own privacy policies separately — for example, Google Analytics' policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. The Administration is not responsible for how third-party services collect, process or use personal data.
Social plugins (Facebook, Twitter and others)
Some pages on the Site may have social network plugins installed (e.g. "Like" or "Share" buttons). Opening such a page connects your browser directly to that network's servers, which then learn which page of the Site you visited; if you are logged in to that network, it may link this information to your account.
To avoid this, log out of the relevant network before visiting the Site. See each network's own privacy section for details.
Cookies and log files
Cookies are small text files that your browser can use to store data received from a server. They let the Site, for example, remember your settings (theme, language) so you don't need to re-enter them on your next visit, and help keep the Site's services secure.
Using cookies is standard practice for most websites. If you would rather not use them, most browsers let you disable cookies in their settings — though some of the Site's features may then work with limitations.
Log files let the Administration analyze anonymized technical visit parameters (domains, browser types) so the Site stays convenient and reliable.
Safety of minors
The Site is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect or store personal data belonging to anyone who has not reached that age.
The Administration's interaction with third parties
The Administration does not share personal data with third parties, except where required by law or at the request of the data subject themselves.
The Site may contain links to other sites, provided purely for informational purposes. This Policy does not extend to those sites, so we recommend reviewing each third-party site's own privacy policy before providing it with any personal data.
Protection of personal data
The Administration applies commonly accepted technological and organizational measures to protect information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorized staff who are bound to keep such information confidential have access to personal data.
Rights of the data subject
Under the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection" No. 2297-VI, you have the right to: know the sources and purpose of the collection of your personal data; access your personal data and its contents; request correction, deletion or the cessation of processing of your data if it is processed unlawfully or is inaccurate; withdraw previously given consent to processing; and file a complaint about the processing of your personal data with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or with a court.
More information on personal data protection is available on the official site of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights: https://www.ombudsman.gov.ua.
Contacts
If you would like to update your personal data, or have a question, comment or complaint about the data we process, please contact the Globe News Pulse editorial team at redaction@globenewspulse.com or via the "Contacts" page.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Policy may be amended from time to time. The rights of data subjects set out in the version of the Policy in force on a given date are not changed without their consent.
Any changes to this Privacy Policy are published on this page. We recommend checking back periodically.
Thank you for trusting us with your data — and enjoy reading Globe News Pulse!
