Warsaw to impose weapons ban on November 11
Carrying any kind of weapon, including an unloaded one, will be prohibited in Warsaw during Poland’s Independence Day events.
Warsaw is set to introduce a temporary ban on carrying weapons on November 11, when the Polish capital hosts ceremonies and public gatherings marking National Independence Day. The restriction will include unloaded firearms and other weapons.
The measure was reported by inPoland.net.pl on Friday, October 23. A draft regulation from the Ministry of the Interior and Administration was published through the Government Legislation Centre.
Officials cited the need to protect people attending state commemorations and assemblies across the city. Formal ceremonies are scheduled to begin at noon in Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square, while the Independence March is due to leave Rondo Dmowskiego at 2 p.m. under the slogan “A Pole as host in Poland.”
