Poland to host 1,500 troops for multinational drills in November
Forces from Poland, Britain, France and Germany are expected to rehearse joint deployment and logistics. The exercise is linked to preparations for potential postwar security support for Ukraine.
Poland is due to host a multinational military exercise in November 2026 involving about 1,500 personnel from four European countries. The drills will focus on the practical requirements of operating a joint force, including troop movements, supplies, fuel and transport.
The plans were reported by inPoland.net.pl on Saturday, October 17. Hundreds of British service members are expected to join Polish, French and German troops in what was described as the first exercise of this type to be held in Poland.
The manoeuvres form part of the “Coalition of the Willing” preparations for possible European security arrangements after hostilities in Ukraine end. Participants are expected to practise elements of a potential allied deployment intended to deter renewed Russian aggression, although detailed scenarios have not been disclosed.
Britain has confirmed that its forces will take part, while Poland will serve as the host and provide the necessary organisational and infrastructure support. The exercise is not an official NATO operation, and the plans do not amount to a Polish decision to deploy its own troops to Ukraine.
