Obolon-Proryv Falls Short of Super League Promotion
The ampf football side placed fourth in its first Ukrainian First League campaign before losing a promotion playoff on penalties.
Obolon-Proryv ended its debut season in fourth place in the Ukrainian Amp Football First League. Across 18 rounds, the Kyiv team collected 34 points from 10 wins, four draws and four defeats, finishing only one point outside the top three.
FC Obolon reported the season review on Sunday, October 18, through its official website. Obolon-Proryv also faced Ternopil’s Vikings that day in a playoff for a place in the 2027 Super League, with the opponents having ranked eighth in the top division.
Neither side scored in regulation time, despite Obolon-Proryv creating several chances to break the deadlock. The Vikings prevailed 3-1 in the ensuing penalty shootout and retained their Super League status.
Obolon-Proryv will therefore remain in the First League next season. Preliminary plans cited by the club envisage a 10-team competition, giving the squad another opportunity to pursue promotion after its encouraging first campaign.
