Six Ukrainian-built carriages join passenger train fleet
The new rolling stock features high-capacity batteries designed to keep essential onboard systems operating during power failures.
Six newly manufactured passenger carriages have been added to Ukraine’s train fleet as the railway continues to renew rolling stock under wartime conditions. Telegram channel @UkrzalInfo reported the delivery on Saturday, October 3.
The domestically built coaches are equipped with batteries that can power lighting, air conditioning and toilets if the external electricity supply is interrupted. This will allow passenger amenities to remain available for longer, including when a train is hauled by a diesel locomotive.
The interiors include redesigned upper berths with tables and colored lighting features. Railway officials say each additional carriage strengthens their ability to maintain services amid continuing attacks on energy facilities and rolling stock.
