Five killed in central Krakow shooting
A gunman fired at pedestrians from an unregistered vehicle in central Krakow. Police shot and detained the suspect after the attack.
Five people were killed and more than a dozen others were wounded in a shooting in central Krakow on November 7. The attacker reportedly targeted people at random while driving along Sławkowska Street in a car without license plates.
The details were reported by inPoland.net.pl on Saturday, November 7. Hubert Ciepły, a spokesman for the Małopolska State Fire Service, said the shots were fired from the moving vehicle.
Police wounded the suspected gunman before taking him into custody. He was transported to a hospital, while authorities said he had been wearing military-style clothing and carrying a long gun.
Investigators initially believed that the attacker acted alone. His identity had not been established at the time of the report, and an air ambulance helicopter was deployed to Krakow’s Main Market Square.
