Kyiv-Przemyśl train named Yaroslav the Wise
Train No. 51/52 has been designated a new flagship service, commemorating the first Yaroslav train that linked Vienna and Lviv in 1861.
The Kyiv-Przemyśl service No. 51/52 has received the name Yaroslav the Wise, marking 165 years since the journey associated with the beginning of railway traffic in Ukraine. The announcement was reported by Telegram channel @UkrzalInfo on Thursday, November 5.
On November 4, 1861, the first train called Yaroslav travelled between Vienna and Lviv through Ukrainian territory. The new service follows part of the historic Lviv-Przemyśl connection and is presented as a tribute to Ukraine’s longstanding rail links with Europe.
The train consists of new carriages and includes an accessible compartment. It leaves Kyiv at 8:12 p.m. and reaches Przemyśl at 5 a.m.; the return departure is at 10:30 p.m., with arrival in Kyiv at 9:15 a.m. Connections in Przemyśl are available for Warsaw, Wrocław, Prague and Berlin.
