Friendship capsule placed in Wroclaw park
A memorial stone and a Polish-Ukrainian friendship capsule have been installed in a Wroclaw public garden. The site is intended as a lasting symbol of cooperation between the two communities.
Organizers placed a commemorative stone and a capsule for future generations in Wroclaw’s Polish-Ukrainian Friendship Garden on October 30. The public space is located in the Niskie Łąki park area near the Zabia Grobla path and a children’s playground.
The milestone was reported by inPoland.net.pl on Friday, October 30. The initiative was launched on August 24 by the Storm of Bloom foundation together with the news portal, community partners and sponsors, with support from local authorities and the Ukrainian Consulate General in Wroclaw.
Landscaping was completed in two stages. Six viburnum shrubs were planted on Ukraine’s Independence Day, followed by another 12 viburnums and 17 lilacs on October 25, bringing the planned total to 35 plants.
A commemorative plaque is still due to be produced and installed. Organizers scheduled the garden’s formal opening for November 11, Poland’s Independence Day, while fundraising continues for improvements and future maintenance of the site.
