Civilians Killed and Injured in Strike at Dnipro Station
Railway warnings and evacuation orders were issued before the attack, but passengers were still close to the train when the strike occurred.
Civilian passengers were killed and wounded in a strike at Dnipro railway station, with many of those affected standing near an electric train at the time. Telegram channel @UkrzalInfo reported the details on Thursday, October 29, while noting that a second-by-second review of the incident was still under way.
An air-raid alert had been broadcast across the station before railway monitors identified a heightened threat from an approaching jet-powered drone. Traffic suspension instructions were then sent to train crews and station personnel.
More than 10 minutes before the impact, passengers aboard a service bound for Zaporizhzhia were told to evacuate. The driver’s assistant checked every carriage, while announcements instructed travelers to leave the platform and move at least 200 meters away. Similar shelter messages were repeatedly played inside the station.
Despite the warnings, a substantial number of people remained in the immediate vicinity of the train when the attack happened. Railway officials said safety procedures would be reviewed again and urged travelers to follow staff instructions without delay during alerts.
