Former Domodedovo owner Kamenshchik becomes Israeli citizen
Dmitry Kamenshchik has relocated to Tel Aviv after leaving Russia following the state takeover of Domodedovo Airport.
Dmitry Kamenshchik, the former owner of Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, has obtained Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return and moved to Tel Aviv. Radio Svoboda (svoboda.org) reported the development on Wednesday, October 28, citing Forbes.
A representative for the businessman said Kamenshchik left Russia in 2025 after the airport was transferred to the state. The representative maintained that he held neither foreign citizenship nor a residence permit when prosecutors filed their claim in January 2025 and that supporting documents had been submitted to the court.
A Moscow regional arbitration court ordered Domodedovo’s assets into state ownership on June 17, 2025. The airport was subsequently sold in January 2026 to a Sheremetyevo subsidiary for 66 billion rubles, half the initial auction price.
Prosecutors had alleged that the strategic company was under foreign control and accused Kamenshchik and supervisory board chairman Valery Kogan of breaching foreign investment rules and moving profits abroad. Both men denied the allegations.
