Unidentified drone found near railway in northern Poland
Police examined a camera-equipped drone discovered near tracks leading toward Olsztyn. Officials said the device was not military equipment.
An unidentified drone was found on October 28 near a railway line in Komarowo Żuławskie, in Poland’s Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The device was lodged on an electricity pole about one metre above the ground in an agricultural area with no buildings nearby.
inPoland.net.pl reported the discovery on Wednesday, October 28. Krzysztof Nowacki, a spokesperson for the municipal police commander in Elbląg, told TVN24 that the drone was not a military model.
The quadcopter carried a camera, flash storage and an attached battery, according to the police account. Officers from the Olsztyn police counterterrorism unit attended the scene and were working to establish how the aircraft reached the railway area and who might own it.
