Bukovyna and Kryvbas entered UPL meeting on winless runs
The clubs had met four times in Ukraine’s top flight before the round-ten fixture. Both approached the game without a win in five league matches.
Bukovyna and Kryvbas had an even historical record ahead of their Ukrainian Premier League round-ten encounter, with three goals scored by each side across four previous meetings. The Ukrainian Premier League reported the figures in its match preview on Saturday, October 24.
Bukovyna had won two of those four games, Kryvbas had taken one, and the other ended level. The Chernivtsi side remained unbeaten in two home meetings, recording one victory and one draw without conceding. Their previous home fixture against Kryvbas was played on November 20, 1993, when goals from Borys Finkel and Viktor Oliynyk secured a 2-0 win.
Both teams carried five-game winless league sequences into the fixture. Bukovyna’s run consisted of three draws and two defeats, while Kryvbas had drawn twice and lost three times. Kyiv referee Klym Zabroda, who had handled 31 UPL matches, was listed as the official.
The trip represented a potential 380th UPL away appearance for Kryvbas and offered the club a chance to register its 100th draw on the road. Bukovyna’s Vitalii Dakhnovskyi was in line for his 100th league appearance, while coach Serhii Shyshchenko was set to reach ten championship games in charge.
