Kharkiv snatch late win over Epitsentr
A stoppage-time strike gave Kharkiv their first UPL victory against Epitsentr and extended the club’s winning run to six matches.
Kharkiv defeated Epitsentr 2-1 after Sebastian Castillo struck in stoppage time in their Ukrainian Premier League round 10 meeting. The Ukrainian Premier League reported the result on Saturday, October 24, via upl.ua.
A quiet opening half produced few clear chances, with Epitsentr goalkeeper Oleh Bilyk stopping an early attempt from Oleksandr Yatsyk. Kharkiv moved ahead after the interval when Baton Zabergja collected the loose ball following Illia Krupskyi’s cross and set up Ramik Hajiyev.
Epitsentr then increased the pressure and equalised through Artem Kozak. Carlos Rojas received Ihor Kiryukhantsev’s forward ball before supplying Kozak with a pass into an unguarded net.
The contest was decided by Castillo, who came off the bench and finished a late move involving Hajiyev and Krupskyi. Kharkiv’s sixth consecutive league win improved their club record and marked their first UPL success over Epitsentr at the third attempt, while the hosts’ winless sequence reached a club-worst six games.
