Officials in the Odesa region met on October 16 to examine gaps in the protection of children facing difficult life circumstances. The session brought together the State Service of Ukraine for Children, the regional administration, law enforcement, specialist departments and representatives of local communities.

Telegram channel @odesaoda reported the meeting on Monday, October 19. Discussions covered challenges encountered by municipalities, documented cases involving violations of children's rights and ways to refine response procedures under current law.

Valentyna Zozulia, head of the State Service of Ukraine for Children, said effective protection depends on coordinated work, clearly assigned responsibilities and prompt action when risks emerge. Participants also stressed the need to support families and detect problems before they develop into crises.
