Karpaty and Epitsentr entered ninth-round meeting with contrasting runs
The UPL’s pre-match figures showed Karpaty unbeaten in none of their two previous league meetings with Epitsentr. Several club and player milestones were also within reach.
Karpaty approached their ninth-round Ukrainian Premier League fixture against Epitsentr with a six-game home scoring streak, producing 11 goals over that spell. The match was set to mark the Lviv club’s 860th appearance in the top flight.
The Ukrainian Premier League (upl.ua) reported the figures on Saturday, October 17. Before the latest contest, the sides had met twice in the UPL, with Epitsentr recording one win and one draw while leading 3-1 on aggregate.
Their only previous league game at Karpaty’s ground took place on October 19, 2025, when Epitsentr won 3-1. Mykola Myroniuk, Oleksandr Klymets and Vladyslav Moroz scored for the visitors, while Paulo Vitor replied for the hosts.
Epitsentr entered the fixture after three consecutive defeats and four matches without a victory. Karpaty defender Jean Pedroso could have made his 50th UPL appearance, while goalkeeper Roman Mysak was in line for a 20th league clean sheet. Volodymyr Novokhatniy, who had handled 62 UPL games, was named as referee.
