Kharkiv and Livyi Bereh set for first UPL meeting
The ninth-round fixture will be the clubs’ first head-to-head encounter in Ukraine’s top division, with several milestones potentially in reach.
Kharkiv and Livyi Bereh have not previously faced each other in the Ukrainian Premier League. The Ukrainian Premier League reported the statistical details on Sunday, October 18, via upl.ua. Odesa referee Dmytro Kubriak, who has officiated 25 UPL games, has been assigned to the match.
Their most recent meeting in Kharkiv took place outside the league on June 1, 2025. Metalist 1925 defeated Livyi Bereh 1-0 in a playoff for a place in the 2025/26 Ukrainian championship, with Vladyslav Kalitvintsev scoring in the 90th minute.
Kharkiv enter the fixture with a club-record run of four consecutive championship wins. Livyi Bereh could record their 10th UPL draw and will be making their 20th away appearance in the competition. Kharkiv’s Peter Itodo is one goal short of 15 in the UPL, while Baton Zabergdja could reach 10 after scoring five times across his last four league matches.
