Ukrainian Premier League round eight delivers landmark numbers
The latest league programme produced milestone appearances, goals and several matched club records. Four red cards also made it the season’s most dismissal-heavy round.
Shakhtar recorded their fourth emphatic Ukrainian Premier League victory over Veres, while Polissia’s club-record run of eight matches without a draw came to an end. The Ukrainian Premier League (upl.ua) reported the round’s figures on Tuesday, October 13.
Bukovyna extended their unbeaten home sequence to five league games, equalling a club best. Kudrivka reached nine matches without a win and five consecutive defeats, matching both a club record and an unwanted club high. Karpaty’s four-game unbeaten away run was halted.
Several major appearance marks were reached: Chornomorets played their 830th UPL fixture, Bukovyna their 90th, and Zorya completed a 370th away league match. Denys Ndukwe scored his first top-flight brace, Matvii Ponomarenko registered his 20th league goal and Heorhii Bushchan collected a 65th clean sheet.
The round featured four sendings-off, the highest total in any matchweek this season. Bukovyna’s seven yellow cards in one game equalled the campaign record, while 0-0, 2-0 and 3-0 remain the most common scorelines, each occurring nine times. The completion of Obolon’s match against Kryvbas was postponed.
