Ukraine recorded its 150th match as the home team when it faced Hungary in the UEFA Nations League in Trnava, Slovakia. The Ukrainian Premier League reported the milestone on Tuesday, October 6.

Hungary also provided the opposition for Ukraine’s first home fixture, played in Uzhhorod on April 29, 1992. Ukraine lost that encounter 3-1 and was again beaten in the anniversary game in Trnava.

Across the 150 fixtures, the national side has collected 80 wins and 43 draws while suffering 27 defeats, scoring 228 goals and conceding 119. The total includes 14 Nations League games, 52 friendlies, 39 European Championship matches, 43 World Cup matches and two other international tournament fixtures.

Ukraine has used venues in 18 cities for games in which it was listed as the host, including 10 cities outside the country. Kyiv leads the ranking with 80 matches, followed by Lviv with 20 and Kharkiv with 11.

Viktor Tsygankov became the 34th player to captain Ukraine after wearing the armband for the first time. Ivan Varfolomieiev made his senior international debut, while substitute Roman Yaremchuk scored his fourth Ukraine goal from the bench. The result was the team’s 10th loss in 27 Nations League outings.
