Public warned to avoid suspicious unattended objects
An explosive device may resemble an ordinary item and show no obvious warning signs. Residents are advised not to handle questionable finds and to alert emergency services.
Unfamiliar objects appearing in unexpected places should be treated with caution, particularly when they seem improvised or deliberately concealed. A bag, package or other everyday-looking item may contain a hazardous device.
The safety guidance was posted by Telegram channel @odesaoda on Monday, September 28. Warning indicators may include ticking or repeated signals, a flashing light, visible batteries, power cells or wires connected as a tripwire.
Officials stressed that a dangerous item may also be silent and lack all of these features. People should not touch, move, open or attempt to disable anything they consider suspicious.
Anyone discovering such an object should step away and contact Ukraine’s rescue service on 101 or police on 102.
