Shakhtar lost 1-0 to Sporting in the fourth round of the Champions League league phase, leaving the Ukrainian club on four points from four matches. The Ukrainian Premier League reported the result on Tuesday, November 3, via upl.ua.

The decisive moment came in the 59th minute after Sporting attacked through the middle. The ball deflected off Pedro Henrique’s thigh during his challenge with Suarez before Doumbia, while falling, sent a low finish into the corner.

Shakhtar responded by increasing the tempo and finished with 55% possession, 40 attacks and 16 shots. Five attempts were on target, compared with Sporting’s two, but the pressure did not produce a goal.

Coach Arda Turan added forwards Traore and Meirelles late in the contest without changing the score. Sporting moved to nine points, while Shakhtar’s remaining league-phase schedule includes Fenerbahce, Slovan Bratislava, RB Leipzig and Real Madrid.
