Ukraine’s Third Army Corps has announced the completion of the second phase of Operation Vivaldi. Corps commander Andrii Biletskyi said Ukrainian units regained about 40 square kilometres of territory and pushed Russian troops out of several strategically important locations.

According to the military, Shandryholove and Derylove were retaken, while Drobysheve was brought fully under Ukrainian control. The corps described the Shandryholove sector as significant both for reinforcing Ukrainian defensive positions and disrupting Russian offensive plans.

Biletskyi claimed Russian forces suffered more than 3,000 casualties, including wounded and captured personnel, during the latest phase. He said over 800 Russian soldiers were killed. The battlefield figures have not been independently verified.

The corps attributed the advances in part to precision strikes against command posts, supply routes, crossings and reserves. It also highlighted the use of aerial drones and unmanned ground vehicles ahead of infantry assaults to reduce risks to troops. While the second phase is over, the broader operation remains under way, Biletskyi said.
