Representatives of Ukraine’s Odesa region used the European Week of Regions and Cities 2026 in Brussels to engage with European institutions and regional partners. Telegram channel @odesaoda reported the participation on Thursday, October 22.

The delegation included the Odesa Regional Development Agency as well as the Krasnosilska and Serhiivska territorial communities. Their involvement was facilitated by UCORD, U-LEAD with Europe and the Polaris programme.

Meetings with the Ukraine Service team at DG ENEST and the head of Bremen’s representation to the EU addressed Ukraine’s accession path and prospects for stronger links between regions. Participants also considered additional formats for practical cooperation.

The Ukrainian delegates highlighted how municipalities continue to deliver essential services despite persistent security risks. They also shared their experience of assisting internally displaced people and pursuing recovery work at the local level.
