A charity evening in Lviv raised UAH 617,000 to support breast cancer diagnostics at the screening unit of the regional oncology treatment and diagnostic center. The program brought together music, art and a public health message during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The fundraising result was reported by the Telegram channel @people_of_action on Wednesday, October 21. Organizers intend to use the full amount to purchase an automated reusable biopsy system.

The device is designed to help doctors perform precise biopsies more quickly and examine suspicious lesions at an early stage. The Жити зараз foundation organized the initiative with backing from the health department of the Lviv regional administration.

The event, titled “Second Premiere. Solomiya,” drew its artistic theme from opera star Solomiya Krushelnytska and the revival of “Madama Butterfly.” Organizers also said they plan to turn similar themed evenings into an annual tradition.
