Ukrzaliznytsia unveils new Poland-bound rail services
Three international routes have been announced, including a flagship Kyiv–Chelm train named after historian Mykhailo Hrushevsky.
Ukrzaliznytsia has announced three international train services linking Ukrainian cities with Poland. Train No. 23/24 between Kyiv and Chelm will serve as the flagship route and carry the name of historian and former Ukrainian Central Rada chairman Mykhailo Hrushevsky.
The Telegram channel @UkrzalInfo reported the announcement on Wednesday, October 21. The railway said the name reflects Hrushevsky’s ties to both cities: he was born in Chelm and worked in Kyiv for nearly two decades.
The flagship service uses modern higher-comfort carriages manufactured in Ukraine during the full-scale war. Its departure is accompanied by MUR’s musical composition “Our Time Has Come.”
A second train, No. 31/32, is scheduled to leave Kyiv at 9:30 p.m. and reach Przemysl at 8:19 a.m., with stops including Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil and Lviv. Train No. 73/74 departs Dnipro at 7 p.m. and arrives in Przemysl at 2:10 p.m., offering onward connections toward destinations including Warsaw, Prague, Berlin and Munich.
