Polish-owned Cersanit and Barlinek stopped manufacturing at their Ukrainian facilities, citing Russian attacks and an inability to maintain safe, reliable operations. inPoland.net.pl reported the companies’ decisions on Tuesday, October 20.

Cersanit’s plant near Zviahel in the Zhytomyr region was struck by Russian drones twice in September and October 2026. Major production lines sustained extensive damage, although no employees were killed or injured. Management decided that rebuilding was not justified while the threat of further attacks remained.

Barlinek had already suspended production at its Vinnytsia site in July after an attack damaged a workshop and plant infrastructure. One person was killed and several others were injured. The factory, founded in 2007, had employed about 800 people and supplied both domestic and foreign markets.

Around 1,000 people worked for Cersanit’s Ukrainian operation, which produced ceramic tiles and bathroom equipment. Both manufacturers are part of the industrial portfolio of Polish businessman Michał Sołowow.
