Odesa Region Forum Focuses on Child-Friendly Justice
Judicial officials, public agencies, child protection services and international partners discussed specialized handling of family and child cases in the Odesa region.
A regional forum in the Odesa region examined how judicial specialization could better protect children involved in family-related proceedings. The Telegram channel @odesaoda reported the event on Monday, October 19.
Discussions covered findings from a pilot project for specialized judges, lessons from local practice and the next steps considered necessary to place children’s best interests at the center of decisions. Participants also addressed a child’s right to be heard during family disputes.
Odesa Regional Administration deputy head Dmytro Radulov called for effective coordination among the institutions responsible for such cases. The forum highlighted closer cooperation between courts, social services and government bodies as part of broader efforts to improve child care, support and family-based upbringing.
