Odesa regional officials inspected school shelter construction in the Mayaky, Biliaivka and Dachne communities on October 16. Deputy regional administration head Anton Shalyhailo and education department director Oleksandr Lonchak reviewed progress at the sites, according to information posted by Telegram channel @odesaoda on Friday, October 16.

The state has allocated funding for the protective facilities, which are intended to support safe in-person classes. The three communities have recently faced intensified Russian attacks, increasing the urgency of completing the projects.

Officials recorded schedule overruns at some locations. Following the inspection, responsible parties were instructed to accelerate work, address outstanding issues and improve coordination while meeting the established deadlines. The regional administration said the projects would remain under its supervision.
