Russian forces launched another overnight attack across Ukraine on October 18, striking civilian infrastructure in Rivne and triggering fires, according to regional governor Oleksandr Koval. Radio Svoboda reported the developments on Sunday, October 18.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said its target in Rivne was a terminal operated by delivery company Nova Poshta. Elsewhere in western Ukraine, an energy installation was hit in the Ternopil region, causing electricity disruptions, while a fire broke out at an industrial plant in the Volyn village of Manevychi. No casualties were reported in those incidents.

A 27-year-old woman was killed in Zaporizhzhia, and several people were wounded, including a six-year-old girl. Regional officials said two apartment buildings, 18 vehicles and an educational facility were damaged. Another person died in Poltava, where private homes were also hit.

Damage to an energy site in the Odesa region left more than 20,000 customers without electricity. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia had struck Ukrainian energy facilities more than 70 times since the US president announced what he described as an energy ceasefire.
