World Central Kitchen helped feed passengers aboard 64 trains that had fallen behind schedule over the course of a week. Telegram channel @UkrzalInfo reported the figures on Friday, October 16.

The assistance included 5,995 hot meals, 886 sandwiches with fruit, 4,342 packaged railway snacks and 1,200 bottles of water. On October 15, Ukrainian Railways and WCK handled their largest single-day effort, arranging food for travelers on 23 trains within seven hours.

Dozens of people prepared the food, coordinated logistics and delivered supplies to stations. Because resources were limited, priority went to services experiencing the longest delays, while railway staff used route adjustments and transfers to move other passengers toward their destinations.

Some trains had returned to their timetables by October 16. Travelers were nevertheless advised to allow extra journey time, particularly on international routes, as security-related stops and evacuations could not be predicted.
