Odesa Region to Receive Accessible Minibuses Through German Partnership
Three specialized vehicles are due to be supplied to the Odesa region and two of its communities under a GIZ program. The initiative was presented at a municipal partnership conference in Berlin.
The Odesa region joined Ukrainian and German local authorities in Berlin for the eighth German-Ukrainian Conference of Municipal Partnerships. Its delegation included the regional administration and eight territorial communities attending alongside their German partners.
The Telegram channel @odesaoda reported the details on Saturday, October 10. Odesa and its communities currently maintain 18 partnerships with German municipalities and regions.
A key event at the gathering was the symbolic handover of minibuses equipped to carry people with disabilities. German Development Minister Reem Alabali-Radovan and Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Oleksii Makeiev took part in the ceremony.
Under a program run by the German development agency GIZ, one vehicle will later be provided to the Odesa region, one to the Shabo community and another to the Sarata community. It will be the region’s third specialized vehicle secured with German support, while Shabo and Sarata will receive their first.
