Odesa hosted a regional education forum marking the upcoming Day of Education Workers. The gathering was organized with support from UNICEF and the Ukrainian civic organization Prohresylni.

The Odesa Regional Administration’s Telegram channel @odesaoda reported the event on Friday, October 2, 2026. Teachers and other education professionals received honors from Ukraine’s Ministry of Education and Science, the regional administration, the regional council and the trade union.

Special recognition went to Andrii Verbetskyi, a teacher at Balta Lyceum No. 1 and a combat veteran who was awarded the third-class Order of Merit by presidential decree. Students from the K. F. Dankevych Odesa Professional College of Arts performed as part of the ceremony.
